This Privacy Policy explains how National Lien & Bond LLC ("Company," "we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, shares, and protects personal information when you access or use the National Lien & Bond platform at mechaniclien.law (the "Platform"). It applies to users of the Platform and to visitors of our public marketing pages.

A note on our relationship to Emalfarb Law LLC. National Lien & Bond LLC is a separate company from Emalfarb Law LLC, an Illinois law firm. Requesting legal services through the Platform does not, by itself, create an attorney-client relationship with Emalfarb Law LLC or any other attorney. Any communications with the firm in connection with a legal engagement are governed by the firm's separate engagement letter and the attorney-client privilege, not by this Privacy Policy.

b. Legal compliance and protection

We may disclose information when we believe in good faith that disclosure is required to (i) comply with a subpoena, court order, or other legal process; (ii) enforce our Terms; (iii) protect the rights, property, or safety of National Lien & Bond LLC, our users, or others; or (iv) investigate fraud or security incidents.

We will verify your identity through your account email before acting on the request. We will respond within the time required by applicable law (generally 45 days for U.S. state-law requests). You may authorize an agent to make a request on your behalf with reasonable proof of authorization.

No security system is perfect. We cannot guarantee that unauthorized access, hardware failure, or other events will never occur. You are responsible for keeping your login credentials confidential. The Platform is intended for use by businesses and is not directed to individuals under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has provided us with personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

The Platform is operated from the United States. If you access the Platform from outside the United States, your information will be transferred to, stored, and processed in the United States. By using the Platform you consent to that transfer. The Platform is not currently targeted to users outside the United States and is not designed to comply with the EU/UK GDPR for European data subjects; users outside the United States access the Platform at their own discretion.

The Platform may contain links to third-party websites or services. Those third parties have their own privacy practices. We are not responsible for their content or practices, and this Privacy Policy does not apply to them.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The "Effective Date" at the top reflects the most recent revision. For material changes, we will provide notice by email or in-app notification before the change takes effect. Your continued use of the Platform after a change becomes effective constitutes acceptance of the revised Policy, except where additional consent is required by law.
